Mohsen Nayebi is now Tehran Province’s new governor, while his predecessor, Hossein Tala, has become head of tobacco [affairs], or as IRGC-Tehran Governor General Morteza Tamadon says, “Smoke and Haze.”
Saying it the ruffian Ahmadinejad way, the Governor General used this exact expression in [the inauguration ceremony] introducing Tehran Province’s new governor.
The previous governor, who is now the head of “Smoke and Haze,” played a critical role in the crackdown on protestors of the June 12, 2009, coup d’etat. He said at the gathering introducing the new commander of Tehran:
“As a Basiji during the election days, I performed my duty to the people.” (Right, the people who were at the protests. He means against the people.)
“During the Tenth Presidential Elections, seven to eight thousand of the candidates’ representatives were operating at the voting stations all over the country. We recounted 430,000 votes and 10% of the votes, and we found that Mr. Mirhossein Mousavi lost 248 votes, Mr. Mohsen Rezaee gained 20 votes, Mr. Ahmadinejad gained 18 votes, and Mr. Karroubi gained 9 votes, with .005 error.”
(With such service, why should he be head of “Smoke and Haze?” Wouldn’t he have climbed up in the government’s team of liars and be a step closer to becoming its captain?)
Hossein Tala added, “I am proud that I as a Basiji performed during the turmoil in Tehran which made people there very bitter and brought lots of pressure on Iran.”
In fact, Asadollah Badamchian, Vice-President of the Islamic Alliance (if he lives long enough, one day his record of the killing and crimes he committed for the past thirty years will come to light), was present at this ceremony and said of Hossein Tala: “ In times of trouble, Mr. Tala was able to fulfill his responsibility competently. We in this gathering of representatives from Tehran invite the new commander Mr. Nayebi to take part in our meetings so that we can make the best use of each other’s capabilities.”
Morteza Tamadon, the IRGC Governor-General of Tehran Province also spoke at this ceremony and said:
“If an invaluable government such as that of Mr. Ahmadinejad did not exist, worry and despair would have been prevalent throughout society. Mr. Tala is really made of gold. He competently fulfilled his duties during the election which was a sensitive and important contest. Mr. Tala has proved himself a shining model in pursuing the clashes which the troublemakers and snobs forced upon us. Mr. Tala as head of tobacco [affairs] in a way must do away with smoke and haze goods in the country using real confidence and responsibility. In another way, managing this enterprise is his task.”
