Islamic Republic of Iran vs Iranian Azerbaijani people
The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Armenia tweeted this two-parted text on October 13th:
“The head of the General Department of Defence Policy and International Cooperation of MoD Levon Ayvazyan met with the newly appointed military attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Colonel Bahman Sadeghian.
Levon Ayvazyan presented the sit created by the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh / Karabakh and the course of ongoing respective hostilities. They reflected the impact on regional security and stability of the involvement of a 3rd party mercenary terrorists in this conflict.”
It worth mentioning that Bahman Sadeghian used to be on the 7th branch of the army which is specialized in intelligent services.

Apart from the historic and lawful claims of the Republic of Azerbaijan over the land of Karabakh, to evaluate this situation, we must consider this fact that there are about 30 to 40 million Iranian-Turks which most of them are of Azerbaijani descent.
In the situation in hand people expected the government to take sides with the Republic of Azerbaijan but the Islamic Republic of Iran chose Armenia over Azerbaijan, A country with similar religious and ethnic characteristics.
