Farzad Kamangar and 4 Other Prisoners Executed in Tehran

Five prisoners were executed in Evin prison on Sunday morning, 9 May 2010.

RAHANA- Farzad Kamangar (son of Baghi Kamangar), Ali Heydarian (son of Ahad Heydarian), Farhad Vakili (son of Mohammad Saeed Vakili), Shirin Alamhooli (daughter of Khadr Alamhooli) and Mehdi Eslamian (son of Mohammad Eslamian), were executed in Evin prison in Tehran on Sunday morning, 9 May 2010.State news agencies have reported that during the trial of these defendants, Tehran prosecutor’s representative and defendants’ lawyer were present and the verdicts initially issued by the lower courts were all studies and upheld by either the appeals court or the Supreme Court.

According to RAHANA’s reporter, these five Kurdish prisoners were executed while no phone call could be made with inside Evin prison as the phone lines have been disconnected since Saturday.
