In 1985 he was transferred to Tehran as the “Deputy of Training Center of Islamic Revolutionary Committee” and soon after, Alireza Beigi was introduced as the “Education Planning Director of the Islamic Revolutionary Committee”. In 1989 and after implementation of a plan to integrate the police (Shahrbani), the Gendarmerie and the Revolutionary Committees, Alireza Beigi joined to “Integration Office of the Armed Forces” which was under the responsibility of Interior Ministry. Then in 1991with the approval of Ardabil province in the government, he was responsible as “the first Chief of Police” in the region to stablish the security forces in Ardebil.

The police Adviser was appointed as the “Chief of Police in East Azerbaijan” in 2003. In 1999, he was responsible as the “Chief of the Traffic Police” in the country for one year and then in 2000 he was appointed as “Chief of Police” In Isfahan and worked as the police commander of the province for three years.

In 2003, he was deployed to Fars Province as the Fars’ Commander of Police. In the last days of 2004, when he was headed to inspect the northern regions of Fars province by hilcopter, his helicopter crashed to the heights of the region. Two of his accompaniers were killed but Alireza Beigi survived the crash injuring his left arm, left leg and his skull.

After rising of Mahmood Ahmadinejad’s government, the former Chief of Police started working as “Advisor of Minister” in the ninth government and later he was appointed as the “Governor of Eastern Azerbaijan”. He indicated the story of his joining to the government in an interview saying: “I remember the day that Mr. Ahmadinejad came to Shiraz in one of his provincial journey and we stood to welcome him along with other officials. I had worn military uniform hanging my arm from my neck. When I shook hand with Mr. Ahmadinejad he looked at me and asked me what had happened. I explained the problem and he said that this job is not appropriate with my age and it is better to change my major. This story made my destination to be changed and he offered me to go to Sistan and Balouchestan Province but at the same time the governor of the East Azerbaijan resigned and I was told behind the Board Meeting to come back for governing East Azerbaijan next week …”

At the time of the Earthquake Ahar, Haris and Varzaqan in 2012 where 306 people were killed and five thousands were wounded, the Governor appointed by Alireza Beigi was not inhabitant in Varzeghan and he was just flying to his service location. As a result, there was a delay in coordinating the accident with the governor. As well as that, the crisis headquarters of East Azerbaijan province – which is a subset of the governor – kept secret about the critical conditions of Varzaghan; so that the first reinforcements

were dispatched to the area after seven hours. During this delay the residents of the area along with Azerbaijan’s people helped to find the survivals and rescue the wounded.

In the first hours after the earthquake, a lot of complaints were released in social networks about the government performance, the governor and IRIB in dealing with the incident. Lack of attention to Varzaghan’s earthquake news, Governor’s neglect as the representative of the Government, and the lack of media coverage of the earthquake were the main critical objections.

Rather than paying attention to the earthquake’s news, IRIB addressed the issues of Syria and Palestine, Quds Day and broadcasted Laylat al-Qadr. Raising the critics, IRIB was bounded to cover the event’s news after three days and Ahmad Alireza Beigi as the governor, declared two days of mourning and during a visit of the region pledged to rebuild quake-hit areas and houses in two months; a promise that did not carry out until the end of his responsibility in the province (2013).

Retweeted by IRNA, Alireza Beigi introduces himself in an interview with “Anaj” website as a “PhD student of National Defense” ,a critic and an opposition against Hashemi’s policy saying: “No need to express the facts! If politicians constantly change their policy, their credibility would be severely compromised; therefore we are supposed to move on deliberately. The “intrigue of 88” is a point that after five years of the incident, the supreme leader insisted on that as a determinant. This shows that Beigi was not wrong. I was objecting Mr. Hashemi on the subject and I still stand on my opinion.”

The responsible of army investment projects introduces himself as a friend of Ahmadinejad at the interview and says: “my amity with Mr. Ahmadinejad is an old friendship. Apart from our different positions, the ideology, the origin of friendship and our religious and revolutionary background made a closer relationship between us….the relationship between us was not a boss and subordinate relationship. We were both justified.” In response to a reporter’s question asking him to whom he vote for in 2013? He replied: “I voted for Mr. Jalili In the presidential elections in 2013.”
