Biography of elected IRGC’s military representatives in the 10th Islamic Consultative Assembly; a 43 year-old commander of Corps for 42 official positions!

Iran Briefing “Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani” is one of the elected representatives of the ninth Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran held on February 26, 2016 in Qom constituency. He is also a member of the “Planning and Budget and Computing Commission” in the Parliament and a main member of the Front Stability (Jebhe-ye Paydari) in Qom. Farahani who has a serving background as a commander and a member of Corps, before working in Parliament has worked as “the Executive Council” of Qom; during the third period of Councils.
The member of Front Stability was born in 1973 in Amirabad village of Farahan city in Markazi province and has a master degree in Financial and Planning. According to his autobiography published in his website, when he was 9 years old, he joined the Mobilization (Basij) in 1982 and in 1983 was selected as the librarian of Shahid Beheshti library of Imam Khomeini mosque. At the age of 13, Ahmad Amirabadi Farahani was sent to the front for the first time in 1986. In his second deployment to the front, he was wounded in Shalamcheh region in Karbala 5 Operation.
At the end of the war in 1989 he worked as a teacher assistant of the Literacy Movement in distressed areas for one year but finally he joined the Corps in 1990 and was entrusted for several responsibilities. After the nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers, in January 1, 2016, along with several members of Parliament including Ahmad Tavakoli, Elyas Naderan, Esmaeil Kosari, Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, Farahani wrote a letter to the president appreciating Hassan Rouhani “due to the overwhelming and precise response to the new deliberate and hostile acts of U.S. government and addressing the development of missile defense industry”. There was another side of the letter, the representatives continued the letter with some verses from Quran demanding a more appropriate response to what they knew as “violation of JCPOA” committed by U.S. government.
Ahmad Amirabadi, the current representative of Qom in Parliament who was elected as the first person in the Tenth Parliamentary elections, before the end of a plenary meeting gave a verbal warning criticizing the way of summing up the votes of some candidates in Tehran, Ray, Shemiranat, Eslamshahr and Pardis constituency saying: “I’m warning the Minister of Interior, Mr. Rahmani Fazli; according to the gained information, unfortunately there are many uncertainties about how the votes have been counted, aggregated and announced the results of the Parliamentary elections in Tehran constituency […]We expect the Council of Guardians, the Minister of the Interior, as well as Supervisory Board election campaign in Tehran to seriously address and follow up the issue.”
The current representative of the ninth Parliament also continued: “As we all are aware, the results of some constituencies such as Qom with 62 candidates, 3 representatives and 600 Ballot Boxes were announced later than Tehran constituency which had more than 1,100 candidates, 30 representatives and about 5,000 Ballot Boxes.”
Amirabadi continued without mentioning the name “Gholam Ali Haddad Adel” saying: “In the beginning of counting the votes, a candidate was declared as the third elected person in Tehran, then the seventh person in Tehran, and suddenly was announced as the thirty-one elected person, this process leaves question to the people, people ask us about it, god willing, the interior minister and other officials will consider the issue and will give a convincer answer to the dear people of Iran.”
Beside his work on military positions, the 43-year-old elected military for the Tenth Parliament has a record of one-year work history in City Council and forty two concurrent jobs during the years of his life.
His records convey an extensive period of training and study in order to expand the influence of the military, especially the Corps in Qom Province; the trainer who is experiencing his second round of his presence in the Parliament now can facilitate the way of military presence and the legislation in favor of armies.
