Tehran’s municipal bus service union is stepping up its appeal in the hopes of receiving medical treatment for its jailed leader, Mansour Osanlou who remains detained in Rajai Shahr prison.

Radio Farda reports Osanlou, who has continued to have problems attributed to his heart, was diagnosed by doctors as having a blocked artery, and  spent three days in hospital last month.

Osanlou is serving a five-year prison term for acting against “national security” in a case widely condemned by rights groups and international labor organizations. He had been detained several times between 2005-2007.
