If the US wants undermine Iran’s security, no one will have security

Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said, “The likelihood of a confrontation (between Iran and the West) depends on the level of Western foolishness. He added that the US is presently focused on economic pressure and sanctions against Iran, while “We are ready to encounter any situation, including a military option.” Fadavi emphasized that Iran is fully capable of closing the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that security will be maintained as long as Iran’s “vital interests and national security” are respected. He warned that if the United States seeks to undermine Iran’s security, “no one will have security.” In this regard, Fadavi said if the US fails to heed IRGC warnings in the Persian Gulf, it will face very bad consequences. Referring to the IRGCN presence in international waters, Fadavi said that special units of the IRGC Navy are escorting all Iranian vessels across the world to prevent any hostile action against them, adding that IRGCN will increase its presence in international waters.

IRGC says it’s reclaiming “confiscated” assets

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) says some countries have confiscated property of the IRGC and its subsidiary companies.

Brigadier General Mohammadreza Yazdi told the Young Reporters Club on Monday: “Arrogant powers are trying to pressure the Islamic Republic by legislating unfair laws against our country, and property of the IRGC and its subsidiary companies has been unfairly confiscated like many other assets of the Iranian nation.”

The IRGC has been blacklisted by the United States and the European Union, and its assets and subsidiary companies have been confiscated, with Washington claiming that Iran uses these companies to circumvent international sanctions.

Commander Yazdi said, however, that the IRGC has begun proceedings to retrieve some of its property. He added: “Some of the accounts and assets of the Islamic Republic have been returned to the treasury, and efforts to retrieve the rest are in progress.”

The IRGC commander also said that Western claims that they have frozen the assets of Iranian military commanders are a “big lie” because “all Iranian commanders have explicitly announced that they have no assets outside Iran to be confiscated by others.”

Commander Yazdi was quoted as saying: “Military commanders have announced that if you [the West] are in possession of any of our funds, we are prepared to sign it off and give you full authority to spend it for the starving American and Europeans and people of those countries who are forced to sell their bodies or resist against the police and endure beatings in order to feed their bellies.”

Blocking of waterway depends on Iranian leader

Head of Iranian Armed Forces says they have a plan for the closure of the Strait of Hormuz; however, the final decision for implementation of such a plan can only be approved by the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

“We are not going to block the Strait of Hormuz, but we do have an intelligent and reasonable plan for it,” General Hasan Firouzabadi said.

He added that the armed forces are prepared with plans for every eventuality; however, the decision to block the Strait of Hormuz rests wholly with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic.

According to the Islamic Republic constitution, the supreme leader is also the commander in chief of the armed forces.

A number of Iranian MPs have said in the past that Iran may consider blocking the Strait of Hormuz if its interests are threatened.

Recent sanctions on Iranian oil exports have triggered predictions that Iran may block the Strait of Hormuz, and the US has reacted saying its navy will not allow any disturbance in the traffic of the strategic waterway.
