IRGC Commander Threatens US Forces In The Persian Gulf

The deputy Chief-Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Commodore Ali Fadavi, has threatened the arrival of United States forces in the Persian Gulf.
Referring to the presence of the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf on September 18, Fadavi told Iran’s Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen news network on Wednesday.
“They should come to the Persian Gulf because they will be within our reach.”
Al-Mayadeen aired Fadavi’s comments following the US’ decision to activate the “trigger mechanism,” which reactivates international sanctions against Iran.
Based on the trigger mechanism, all countries across the globe are obliged to inspect shipments to or from Iran, and, if necessary, seize the prohibited cargos.
However, Fadavi claimed that such measures are useless and would fail.

Iran’s economy on right track despite cruel sanctions

Iran’s envoy to the UN General Assembly’s second committee said the Islamic Republic has made significant progress in developmental indexes despite challenges posed by sanctions and the coronavirus pandemic.
“2020 is considered a turning point in our journey towards development.
We face a formidable global challenge that threatens the lives and livelihoods of people all over the world in an unprecedented way,” Hajilari said on Monday at the 75th Session of the UN’s Economic and Financial Committee (Second Committee).
“The intensity of this challenge has undermined the achievements made in decades of efforts.”
Referring to the challenges caused by the US’ economic terrorism, he stressed, “Unfortunately, in such a critical situation where the world needs solidarity and unity more than ever, we face a surplus of unilateral approaches and a shortage of multilateral solutions.”
“While the whole world is grappling with the most catastrophic epidemic of the modern era, the United States continues to impose its unilateral coercive measures, including illegal sanctions, on countries suffering the painful consequences of this disease.”
